Loretta & Renato's Fun Loving Outdoor Summer Golf Course Wedding at Cobble Beach, Owen Sound
Loretta and Renato are the most unique, fun loving, and laughter inspiring couple I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. Their wedding was joyful, playful, and so perfectly ‘them’ I couldn’t imagine a better way to spend a day than capturing their love!
You may remember them from this quirky and fun engagement session we shot at the cottage together last summer. After seeing all the fun activities they’d planned for this shoot (did someone say paddleboard archery?!?) I was beyond excited to see what they planned for their wedding!
Loretta and Renato chose Cobble Beach in Owen Sound to host their day, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more picture perfect venue for an outdoor summer wedding. Overlooking the sparking waters of Georgian Bay, this venue features a stunning clubhouse with beautiful bridal suites, a ceremony space looking out over the water, and the most picturesque lighthouse down at the beach that is the perfect backdrop for photographs.
Beyond anything else, Loretta and Renato wanted to have fun on their wedding day. They laughed, joked, and smiled their way through the entire day, and even planned fun games to get their guests interacting. One of the most unique and creative things they did was to hire an actor to play a guest throughout the day, and challenged their guests to get to know one another, interact, and talk to try and guess who the ‘mystery guest’ was, it was a hit!
My favourite photographs throughout the day however centered on the beautiful and natural relationship between the bride, groom, and their wedding party. The best man was the groom’s brother, AND the bride’s childhood best friend who introduced the two one day and the rest is history. It was magic getting to photograph his glowing face watching two of the most important people to him get married. The rest of the wedding party consisted of the brides FIVE brothers who were all there to love and support her (and roast her new hubby obviously), and the brides’ childhood best friends and cousins where were the most fun group of bridesmaids I’ve ever spent a wedding with!
The night finished off with Renato giving a powerpoint presentation speech titled ‘why I’m marrying Loretta’ that had everyone laughing and in tears, before kicking off into a fantastic dance party that had everyone up and twirling in no time, entirely drawing from the bride and groom’s boundless energy and excitement for the night!
