6 Ways to Use Your Engagement Photographs to Enjoy Them For Years!

Your engagement photographs document an important time in your lives together, and I promise that you’ll love looking back through them in future years! While you currently have digital copies of your photographs, the online galleries your photogrpaher provides will not be around forever. All too often, these important photographs are never printed, and will get lost in the changing jumble of technology over the course of our lives. Read this blog for 6 inspiring ways to print and use your engagement photographs to preserve your memories together forever!

1.     Design an engagement album for your guests to sign.

A signing album is a great way to use your engagement photographs, AND capture a snapshot of all the loved ones who were at your wedding.  A signing album is a beautiful heirloom to preserve your memories, and is something you’ll find yourself looking back on together years later.  If you’re a part of the Corynn Fowler Photography (CFP)  family, you can design and order your album directly through the online shop that’s part of your photo gallery.  I recommend opting for the linen or leather covered 8x8 album, it’s slightly smaller than your upgraded wedding album, and they will make a great set together!  Pro tip: when you’re designing a signing album, make sure to leave lots of white space or blank pages scattered throughout for people to write on.

2. Order an engagement album to match your wedding album.

If you love the idea of ordering an engagement album, but don’t feel like displaying it to all your wedding guests, consider designing one that will match your final wedding album.  For CFP insiders, I recommend upgrading your wedding album to the beautiful 10x10 master fine art album bound in linen or leather, and ordering an 8x8 master fine art album for your engagement photographs.  These two pieces are intended to go together, and look fantastic stacked together and styled on a coffee table or shelf!

3. Print a large photograph for your guests to sign.

If there’s one photograph from your engagement session that you absolutely LOVE, then consider ordering it as a large print with lots of white space around the border for your guests to sign.  After the wedding you can either frame it and hang it in your house, or roll it up as a keepsake to pull out and look at together as time goes by. For CFP insiders,  I recommend ordering a fine art print through your online gallery.  Ordering a fine art prints means that the paper is much thicker, meant to last longer than a traditional photographic print, and looks fantastic framed or unframed.

4. Start a gallery wall with your engagement photographs.

Everyone loves a good gallery wall, and your engagement photographs are a great way to add to a personal and meaningful wall that is unique to you!  Consider ordering 1-3 of your favourite photographs, and having them framed to intersperse throughout your wall.  For CFP insiders, I recommend ordering fine art prints through your gallery store, OR treat yourself and order one of my spectacular hand made paper prints, available exclusively through my printing lab.  Frame them, hang them, and don’t forget to send me a photo to share, I love gallery walls!

5. Decorate with a full print set in a beautiful engraved glass or linen box.

If you’re having a hard time choosing what photographs to have printed, just order the full set as 4x6 prints along with a beautiful engraved glass or linen box to store them in.  These unique pieces are classic, timeless, personalized, and look absolutely fantastic displayed on a coffee table, desk, or stylized shelf.  Everybody loves leafing through loose prints, and you will often find yourself flipping through a few photographs to bring a smile to your face.  For CFP insiders, I recommend ordering your whole print set on gloss or matte photographic paper, and pairing them with either an engraved glass box, or a simple linen box to style with your wedding album.

6. Create a classic framed triptych to hang above your bed.

It’s so much fun to incorporate your engagement photographs into your everyday home décor, and a set of three framed prints hung together is always a timeless and classic style choice!  If you’re ordering stand alone prints that are intended to be pieces of art, I recommend ordering the hand made paper prints, sized 16x19 or larger.  These beautiful pieces of hand made paper with rough cotton edges are exquisite, and look so elegant framed in minimal float frames that show off the beautiful character of the paper.  Order them directly through your online shop, or feel free to consult with me about what pieces will work well together and how to frame them.

Your engagement photographs are an important snapshot of who you are together at this time in your lives, and you will absolutely LOVE looking back on them together over the years.  While it’s nice to enjoy them through your online gallery at the moment, this gallery will not always be accessible, and in the long run the best way to enjoy and preserve photographs of your memories is to print them!  Everything listed here is available through your online gallery store, OR I’m happy to consult on the best way for you to print your photographs, in which case I can complete your order directly.

Most importantly, once your beautiful prints arrive, be sure to share a photograph and tag me!  It makes me SO incredibly happy to see the memories we captured together getting to live on in print!
